Kuala Kubu Bharu

Yesterday I visited the newly developed site at Kuala Kubu Bharu for a test flight to identify the lift zones and doing site mapping. It was an inaugural flight, lots of thermals but they were quite soft and pleasant to climb. The view around LZ was very beautiful, especially the river where whitewater rafting activities are done. The launch zone is spacious and access to the take-off area is also well constructed. In a few more months, this site will be a favourite for all paragliders living near Kuala Lumpur. I’m just so glad that I was officially included in the core team to turn this site into a commercially viable paragliding park.

The best part about this site is that it receives full support and commitment from Kuala Kubu Bharu’s local council. That would ease a lot of things especially official matters with DCA for getting the airspace operating rights. Oh yes, it’s within 10km of flight training airspace, but not a problem as only Cessna planes were spotted flying there and usually it’s quite easy to get the NOTAM through. Anyway, I’ll let the pictures do the talking… or in this case, the video :-)
