Lately, it has been quite a number of sleepless nights especially to Rezuan, working on the iPhone app trying to iron out all known bugs. Tests after tests, keeps on discovering new bugs and keep on coming up with new features that we wanted to put into the app.
Google keeps tagging the email alerts as spams and we’ve been trying our best to classify the email carefully so it won’t be seen as spams, else it defeats the purpose of sending emergency alerts isn’t it? Facebook and Twitter integration worked as smoothly as ever, without any glitch at all. SMS notifications however, is a bit complex due to some software engineering limitations that Apple is imposing. Location database is no longer offline like the iMedicMap, it’s now managed by Fakhrun from the server and I trusts that he’ll take care of that part without any service downtime.
Earlier today, I had the opportunity albeit a very short one, to present the app to an audience that I think would appreciate it and further promote the app. From the feedbacks, they seemed to like the app very much. Fakhrun and Khairul hopefully will be happy knowing that their contribution to society by funding the development of this app will be appreciated by the users, especially if I could get thousands, or maybe even millions of app downloads :-)
I’m going to commit the latest version to AppStore some time tonight when Rezuan completed all the bugfixes, then that’d be the final version that I’m going to leave for download until I figure out on the future direction of this work of ours.
In case you’re still wondering what this app does, head to our Facebook page at http://facebook.com/QwikAlert for further details.
Till then, will keep on innovating.
