Aidilfitri 2013, from Broga to Jugra

I have been planning to paraglide from the top of Broga Hill in Semenyih for quite a while, not exactly sure why I didn’t actually do it before. But on one Saturday a couple of weeks ago, I was dead bored out of the Aidilfitri celebration and I just made up my mind that even if I had to climb it alone and fly by myself, I would just do it. Luckily enough, Jocelyn out of the blue decided to accompany me for the climb. So we went up for a morning hike and reached the top just after the sunrise.

However, on that day the wind was too weak and I wasn’t getting the steady 4knots wind as predicted by the weather station. We waited for a while on top of Broga, appreciating the 360 degree views of Hulu Semenyih from above together with the rest of the weekend climbers. As the sun starts to shine and there were nowhere for us to shade under, I started to think of other options and if Jocelyn wouldn’t mind to tag along. Jugra came up first and since it’s the nearest, we climb (mostly slide) down the Broga hill and made our way to Jugra.

There were hardly any pilots in Jugra! but I figured that since it was only the third day of Aidilfitri, everyone is still busy visiting, eating and celebrating. Chris was there testing his new Skywalk glider and that was it. Just me and Chris flying Jugra, Jocelyn taking the videos and fetches me from the landing zone. For once, the Jugra hill was available all to myself (on weekends Jugra is often crowded with paragliders waiting for their turn to fly).

The wind was good, Chris and I did a few flights and also top landing. I had a good chat with Chris, bought my new SupAir reversible harness and had Jocelyn to take my flying videos – yeah, how often do I get the chance of someone who actually knows how to operate a camera taking my pictures and videos? I had quite a few of good shots of my flying profile :-)

Anyway, since a picture speaks a thousand words, here’s a short clip of it…
