Veni, Vidi, Vici

writer’s (un)block

It has been a long time since I write anything in this blog, not that I don’t have anything to write but it’s just that each time I sat in front of the computer and tried to write something, my mind went blank and all I could do was just stare at the screen momentarily before my fingers like having a mind of its own starts to open Facebook, paraglidingmap.com or some other websites and then there I go, losing myself in cyberspace again.

But I’ve also been quite busy lately working on new paragliding sites in Langkawi, Jitra and Perlis… extremely tiring effort with no immediate financial returns but I hope some day it will bear some fruits. I’m also currently busy working on advancing my USHPA certification to be a Tandem Instructor, upgrading from my ParaPro-4 stage and has been practising my flights frequently before the exams soon. To fly is always easy, but finding someone who has the time and willingness to join as my tandem passenger is a challenge, not everyone could go flying during weekdays or even weekends.

Anyway… now that the writer’s block is sort of dissipating slowly, I’m planning to write again of my adventures. Next week, I will start my journey venturing deep into north of Thailand’s mountain range, hoping to find a tandem passenger there who is willing to fly (or trust me enough to put their life in my hands ;-) I heard that Bin Bin would be around there too, so maybe I should convince her to teach me XC techniques to cut across the Petchabun mountain range, this time I would like to try flying further crossing over the Lom Khao/Lom Sak suburbs.

All gears are ready and I’ve just got myself a larger wing for this trip, pre-loved but still in good condition. Sky Atis2 with EN B rating so it should be faster than my CIMA K2. It glides at 48kmh in trim speed, good enough for me.

Till then… adios!
